Mercer County Marks Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Attack Sunday

The ceremony, presented by Mercer County Veteran Services and the Mercer County Veterans Council, will be held at noon in Trenton.

Mercer County will commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the Japanese Air Attack on Pearl Harbor Sunday.

The ceremony, presented by Mercer County Veteran Services in conjunction with the Mercer County Veterans Council, will be held at Catholic War Veterans Post 417, 301 Grand Street in Trenton, beginning at noon.

The public is encouraged to attend.

Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes will give brief remarks at the ceremony, followed by remarks from guest speaker Capt. Stanley Winowicz, U.S.N.R.

This year’s program will also feature the traditional laying of a wreath at the base of the American flag, the laying of a second wreath by the Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, a 21-gun salute by the Marine Corps League, and the playing of taps by Walter Kramarz of the Mercer County Veterans Council.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held indoors.
