Mercer County Veterans Day Ceremony Set for November 9
The ceremony will take place at Catholic War Veterans Post 417, 301 Grand Street in Trenton, noon.

The Mercer County Veteran Services and the Mercer County Veterans Council will host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 9 at Catholic War Veterans Post 417, 301 Grand Street in Trenton, noon.
Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes will join with other county and local officials to give recognition and appreciation to the many county residents who have served in America’s armed forces.
Hughes will give brief remarks at the ceremony, followed by remarks from retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Donald A. Weyler.

This year’s program will also feature the laying of a wreath to honor veterans’ service, a salute to fallen veterans by American Legion Post 31, and the playing of taps by Walter Kramarz of the Mercer County Veterans Council.
Additionally, the following county offices will be closed on Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day: McDade Administration Building, 640 South Broad Street; Criminal Courthouse, 400 South Warren Street; Office of the Mercer County Clerk, 209 South Broad Street; Civil Courthouse and Office of the County Surrogate, 175 South Broad Street; and Mercer County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton.

The following county offices and facilities will remain open: Trenton-Mercer Airport; Correction Center; the Indoor Tennis Center at Mercer County Park; all four County golf courses; the Equestrian Center; the Wildlife Center; the County Sheriff’s Office; and the Emergency Services Communications Center.
Four branches of the Mercer County Library System will be open, including: Ewing, Hickory Corner, Lawrence Headquarters and West Windsor.
All other branches will be closed.
