Oh, I Am A Lumberjack: Experience the Life in Mercer County Saturday
Crews will be using horses and oxen to skid saw logs out of the woods, and haul firewood for use in the farmhouse kitchen.

Visitors to Howell Living History Farm are invited to join farmers for a day of old-fashioned logging and firewood cutting on Saturday, Nov. 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Crews will be using horses and oxen to skid saw logs out of the woods, and haul firewood for use in the farmhouse kitchen and maple sugar sap house.
People of all ages can help by cutting and splitting firewood, making barn pegs for use in a timber frame, and splitting locust logs for fence rails.

At lunchtime, visitors can enjoy fare suitable for lumberjacks, including pancakes made with the farm’s whole-wheat flour drenched in real maple syrup.
Howell Farm is owned by the County of Mercer and operated by the Mercer County Park Commission. It is located on Valley Road, just off Route 29, two miles south of Lambertville (GPS address: 70 Woodens Lane, Lambertville, NJ 08530).

Visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Parking and admission are free.
