Passenger Killed After Van Strikes Disabled Truck On I-295 In Mercer Co.
A 25-year-old man was fatally injured when a van he was riding in struck a disabled Mack truck on the shoulder, NJSP said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A 25-year-old Mount Royal man was killed Friday after a van he was riding in struck a disabled truck parked on the shoulder of I-295 in Hamilton Township, New Jersey State Police said.
Daniel H. Carmelo was a front-seat passenger in a Dodge Sprinter Van traveling south on I-295 when the vehicle rear-ended a parked Mack truck near milepost 64.7 around 3:31 p.m., NJSP said.
Carmelo sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The driver was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation, state police said.
