Mercer County Waste Recycling Information Session in Lawrence on Oct. 28
The session is Oct. 28 at the Dempster Fire Training Academy.

A number of municipalities in Mercer County are either starting or contemplating starting organic waste recycling programs, and the Mercer County Sustainability Coalition will host a program to provide information on the subject on Oct. 28.
In the programs, residents collect food, paper and yard waste in specially designated containers for curbside pickup.
The informational program will provide information to Mercer County residents who are interested in finding out how these programs work, what is collected, how and where it is recycled, and how it can and will be put back to use.

Experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance on existing and potential programs.
The event is free and will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the auditorium of the Mercer County Dempster Fire Training Academy, 350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrence. Light refreshments will be served.

The Mercer County Sustainability Coalition is a coalition of the Mercer County Office of Economic Development and Sustainability, Sustainable Jersey, and green team and environmental committee members from municipalities throughout Mercer County.
