Proposed Innovations for the Lawrenceville School Campus

Learn About the School's Campus Master Plan

At its very core, Lawrenceville’s National Historic Landmark campus hasn’t changed much over the past two centuries. Yes, the grounds have expanded, there are new buildings, and older structures have been updated to meet 21st century needs. But these incremental improvements, all made to enrich student education, haven’t changed the way the campus reflects and amplifies the what Head Master Steve Murray said, is “…emblematic of our learning model: we’re going to intrigue and entice you, draw you into more and more knowledge and conversations.”

Murray recently sat down with representatives of Sasaki, the International interdisciplinary planning and design firm that the School has contracted to develop a master plan for Lawrenceville’s campus. Their discussion focused on the implications of the School’s Campus Master plan; opportunities and challenges that independent schools are facing; the importance of design in shaping the student
experience, and more.

You can read their discussion – and get a visual preview of some of the innovations proposed in the Campus Master Plan – here.
