Beginning on May 7th, 2017, The Salvation Army's Trenton Citadel Corps Community Center will spearhead a week of community events

Trenton, NJ (May 3, 2017) – Beginning on May 7th, 2017, The Salvation Army’s Trenton Citadel Corps Community Center will spearhead a week of events to honor their 127 years serving the residents of Mercer County. The Salvation Army will host a variety of community engagement and fundraising events benefiting the corps community center’s social services and programs at the 575 E. State St. location in Trenton.

“It’s important for us to let the Mercer County area know that we are here and we want to help,” said Envoy Richard Pease, Co-Officer in Charge of Trenton Citadel Corps & West Central Region Coordinator. “We want to help our community and make residents aware that we provide social services and events year-round, not just during the Christmas season.”

The week will kick-off with a youth-centered Holiness Meeting on Sunday, May 7th. The rest of the week will include visits to area nursing homes, Water’s Edge and Arcadia, a clean-up of Jefferson Vincent Park, a volunteer appreciation lunch, a family-focused BBQ at the corps and a beautification day at the building, including participation from Lennar Corporation, local muralists and a local Eagle Scout Candidate.
