Spend Halloween Harvesting Corn in Mercer County

The harvesting takes place at Howell Living History Farm on Saturday.

A classic scene from America’s past will be recreated at Howell Living History Farm on Saturday, Oct. 31, when farmers and visitors harvest the fields of ripening corn by hand.

Visitors can join in the work and fun from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by helping farmers harvest corn in the fields, shell and grind corn, and by tasting cornbread.

The farm will also feature its 4-acre corn maze, which is open Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, noon to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

Howell Farm is owned by Mercer County and operated by the Mercer County Park Commission. It is located on Valley Road, just off Route 29, two miles south of Lambertville (GPS address: 70 Woodens Lane, Lambertville, NJ 08530).

Visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Parking and admission are free.
