Support Ewing Township Anti-Corruption Resolution

Local Government in action

Our Congress has been unable to act to remove the corrupting influence of big money on our elections and in our lawmaking. Support your town in joining the grassroots movement that is picking up steam across our nation to convince Congress that we, the people, will not rest until our government truly represents us not only the monied interests.

The Ewing Township Council will consider a “Resolution supporting anti-corruption legislation” at its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, beginning at 6:30 PM (rescheduled from January 27 due to snow storm) in the Municipal Building, 2 Jake Garzio Drive.

If approved, Ewing will become the second municipality in Mercer County to take this action. Last July, the Princeton Council became the first elected body in the County -- and the United States -- to give its consent to a similar resolution. Since then, numerous towns and cities across the US have endorsed anti-corruption legislation, including voter approval of a ballot initiative in Tallahassee, FL, on Election Day to amend its charter. All of these resolutions and initiatives either recognize or incorporate the principles of “the American Anti-Corruption Act” (www.anticorruptionact.org).
