Tomatoes: You Be The Judge In Mercer County
Visitors to Howell Living History Farm will decide which heirloom tomatoes go to the fair, and which ones get canned on Saturday, Aug. 13.

Visitors to Howell Living History Farm will decide which heirloom tomatoes go to the fair, and which ones get canned on Saturday, Aug. 13.
Rob Flory will call upon guests of all ages to tune up their taste buds at 11 a.m., and vote for the farm’s top tomato. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m.
The program also includes tours of the farm’s circa 1900 Kitchen Garden, opportunities to help can tomatoes, and a chance to talk with historian Larry Kidder about the tomato canning factory that once operated in nearby Titusville.

Visitors will also leave with tomato recipes and gardening tips that may make them ribbon winners at home or at the next 4-H Fair.
Howell Living History Farm is owned by the County of Mercer and maintained by the Mercer County Park Commission. It is located on Valley Road, just off Route 29, in Hopewell Township. The GPS address is 70 Woodens Lane, Hopewell Township, NJ 08530. Parking and admission are free.
