Free event to learn about the flora, fauna and habitats at risk along the proposed route of the PennEast pipeline on Baldpate Mountain

You’ve heard about the PennEast pipeline, but have you seen first-hand what is at risk on Baldpate Mountain, home to threatened species of birds and plants? Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society and the Sourland Conservancy at 9 – 11:30 AM on Sunday, April 17 for a free hike led by Juanita Hummel, Sharyn Magee and others along the proposed route of the pipeline. Set during the early spring migration season, we will explore important habitat for resident and migratory birds, wildlife, trees and wildflowers. Learn more about how pipeline construction would affect this unique and special place.

Directions: Meet at Baldpate’s Pleasant Valley Parking Lot of the Ted Stile’s Preserve. For more information, contact wcas@gmail.com or check the WCAS website (www.washingtoncrossingaudubon.org).
