• One of the nation's largest food-waste gas plants nears launch in NJ (mycentraljersey.com) — A massive food waste-to-natural gas plant in Linden is nearing completion, having logged over 1 million construction hours without a serious injury. The facility will process up to 850 tons of organic waste daily, feeding renewable gas into the Elizabethtown system and helping cut regional emissions. Developers say it will also reduce long-distance waste hauling and create useful soil products from digested solids.

• NJ utility seeks rate hike as water shutoffs and bills soar (wpst.com) — Linden households face rising water costs as New Jersey American Water seeks a 12% rate hike and reports more than 500 local shutoffs last year. The increase would add about $10 to the average monthly bill to fund infrastructure upgrades and lead line removal. Advocates are pushing regulators to protect low-income customers as affordability concerns and shutoffs surge statewide.

• NJ Man Nearly Removed From United Flight Over Gaza Shirt (newser.com) — A Linden resident says he was briefly removed from a United Airlines flight after staff objected to his T-shirt reading “Bombing kids is not self defense,” and he changed shirts to continue his trip.
