RBR Board Passes Resolution for Gun Safety
The RBR Board of Education's recent resolution lends its support toward the goal of improved gun safety measures.

At is March 29 meeting, the Red Bank Regional (RBR) Board of Education adopted a resolution on gun safety beseeching the President of the United State and Congress to, “…identify and implement meaningful action to address access to and ownership of military style assault weapons and ammunition, the delivery of mental health services and financial support to ensure a safe and secure school climate…”
As many school districts around the country, RBR has worked aggressively to improve safety on its school campus over and over again. In a recent letter to his parents, Superintendent Dr. Louis Moore reassured parents of the many security measures the school district undertakes. This includes the hardening of school entrances with special monitoring procedures for visitors that enter and exit the building. Additionally, for over a decade, the school has employed a full time, armed School Resource Officer from the Little Silver Police Department who is stationed in the school building. School security drills are reviewed and practiced regularly by staff and students. A security committee made up of internal personal and the police departments of Little Silver, Red Bank and Shrewsbury meet regularly to review school safety procedures and recommend improvements.
