HIGHLANDS, NJ — A clammer still remains missing in Sandy Hook Bay as Monday night drew to a close, Atlantic Highlands Police report. The clammer has been identified only as a 64-year-old man from Pennsylvania. His boat was first noticed at 10:45 a.m. Monday in the area of the SeaStreak ferry in the town of Atlantic Highlands. The boat was empty and appeared to be used for commercial clamming. That's when the search for the man commenced. Atlantic Highlands residents noticed a large police and first responder response at the town marina Monday. Witnesses reported seeing an NYPD helicopter very low in the sky over Atlantic Highlands municipal marina. New Jersey State Police have taken over the search operation.
