Snowdown at Little Silver Town Hall Tonight
To shovel or not to shovel, that is the question...

The last time the snow shoveling ordinance was bandied about on April 4, it was a house divided among those with sidewalks and those without.
Those with sidewalks for the most part felt the proposed ordinance -- which would require residents to shovel their public walkways or be fined -- would be unfair, as those without sidewalks would not be obligated to clear any path of snow.
For their part, Michael and Eileen McGann, who are in favor of such an ordinance, say doing so would be in the interest of keeping local residents and children safe, as commuters and children were forced to take dangerous walks in the street during the snow storms earlier this year.

We'll get to see tonight whether there have been any new developments in drafting such an ordinance, and residents on both sides of the issue will have the opportunity to show up and voice their concerns, as a 6:30 p.m. public workshop meeting will be held, followed by a 8 p.m. general council meeting.
If you can't make it there tonight, no worries. Patch has you covered. We'll get you all the updates you need. I'll be all a-Twitter @OceanportPatch so can follow me into the digital borough hall if you like. Maybe I'll even throw in a little live video...
