Tyler Schwinn Breaks 17-year old RBR Cross Country Record

Leading RBR Boys' Cross Country to one of the Best Seasons in History

Red Bank Regional (RBR) Cross Country runner, junior Tyler Schwinn, Little Silver, broke a 17-year standing school record this fall by running 15:32 in the 5k at the Shore Conference Championship meet at Ocean County Park. (The previous record was set by Walton Kingsberry in 2000.)

Tyler also clocked in as the fourth fastest runner in RBR history with his performance at the famed and grueling Holmdel Park course, completing the course 16:16 at the Monmouth County Championship Meet. RBR placed third at that meet while Tyler placed fourth.

Tyler Schwinn also led RBR to victory winning the Varsity A Race at the prestigious Manhattan Cross Country Invitational, where he also took first place in the individual race. He also placed first at the Battle of Ocean County Park Junior Race.

The Boys Cross Country team concluded the season qualifying for the Group 3 Championship Meet, and placing ninth. Tyler Schwinn qualified for the Meet of Champions where he placed 23rd in the state.

RBR’s Head Boys’ Cross Country Brendan McGoldrick, states, “Tyler has worked diligently all summer and fall to improve himself, which has made him one of the best runners in the county, conference, and state.
