Recently, Temple B’nai Abraham’s Sisterhood and Social Action Committee co-sponsored the 21st annual Women’s Interfaith Forum, a dinner and forum celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. The topic this year was Bridging the Hunger Gap: Presenting Innovative Ways to Address Hunger in Our Own Community. Our moderator for the evening was Assemblywoman Mila Jasey (D) of the 27th District, and the panelists included Chip Paillix, President and Founder America’s Grow-A-Row, Megan Sweet, Nutrition Education Program Coordinator for the Greater Newark Conservancy, and Diane Riley, Director of Advocacy, Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Approximately 125 guests were in attendance, from more than 10 local houses of worship.
