WHO TO VOTE FOR IN LIVINGSTON TOMORROW ON JUNE 2nd
I'm not advocating for nor am affiliated with any particular candidate, but I will give you a few things to think about before casting your vote.
I hope Livingston residents vote for new blood. We need leaders that haven't sat on the Town Council or other committees for years.
Some of the candidates have been on the Livingston Town Council for years. They sat and watched the decline of the Livingston Mall that started in 2020 with the closure of Sears Auto. And as tenants left and the property failed to be maintained it seems clear they didn't do enough help the Mall succeed. It is such a shame what has become of it, and loss of quality of life and amenities in Livingston. Meinhardt and Bhuptani are ironically campaigning on 'Redeveloping the Livingston Mall'. Does it make sense to let the people who were responsible for the Mall's downfall be the ones to lead in its rebuilding. Are they really the best ones for that task?
As our town becomes significantly overdeveloped with outside developers building bigger and bigger and changing the character and nature of our local communities. Do you like the development that's going on in your neighborhood? Laurie Kahn sat on the Livingston Zoning Board for years, heard time and time again the community's concern over the size of proposed housing, and in most all cases, voted to grant developers variances anyway. Not listening to the concerns that residents expressed about their community and neighborhood. We need people who will not only listen to community members but will actually do something to support their concerns and take action.
Livingston needs change! It needs new leaders that have not been doing the same old, same old on the Town Council or on other Town committees for years.
We need new voices. New leaders.
Please don't just vote for a name. Vote for candidates who are qualified to do the job and those who will stand up for residents.
Vote smart on Tuesday. Vote for new leadership.
