22nd Annual TBA Women's Interfaith Forum in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A Great Success
Over 160 participants from 15 houses of worship and faith –based groups from greater Essex County attended TBA Annual Interfaith Forum
On Wednesday, January 20, over 160 participants from 15 houses of worship and faith –based groups from greater Essex County attended Temple B’nai Abraham’s 22nd annual Women’s Interfaith Forum, celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. Since 1994, the Temple B’nai Abraham Women’s Interfaith Forum, celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., has served as a backdrop for dialogue about issues that are of interest to women of all backgrounds and to share a vegetarian meal, prepared by the women of TBA’s Sisterhood. This year a panel of experts led a discussion of “Rising Painkiller and Heroin Addiction in Our Communities: Exploring Prevention and Recovery Options.”
The panel included Marian Schreck, VP & COO of Newark Renaissance House; Legislative— Angelo M. Valente, Executive Director, Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey ; Treatment— Irina Pravikova, the Clinical Director, Newark Renaissance House and Prevention—Lesley Gabel, HPR, Co-Executive Director, Safe Communities Coalition of Hunterdon and Somerset County.
