$2K In Items Stolen From Livingston Job Site: Police Reports
In recent reports, Livingston police detailed a theft from a job site, and several thefts from stores.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston police released details of reports made at the end of last month, several of them about thefts. They included:
Job Site Burglary
On Sept. 28, police headed to 644 W. Mount Pleasant Ave., a new construction site, after 7 a.m. The victim told police that he found that his workshop located on site had been entered, and approximately $2,500 in tools were stolen in the overnight hours.

Police found that the fence had been cut, allowing entry. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
Macy’s Thefts

On Sept. 28, at 4:44 p.m., Livingston officers responded to Macy’s at the Livingston Mall on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, Macy’s Loss Prevention had a 64-year-old South Plainfield woman in custody. Police said she left the store with more than $600 in clothing. She was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.
The next day, at 1 p.m., Livingston Officer David Naylor was on patrol at the Livingston Mall and saw two people acting suspiciously, according to police.
One man, 26, from Irvington, was "found to be in possession of a watch, ring and clothing that was identified by Macy’s as being stolen from their store," police said. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, police said.
He was charged with receiving stolen property and failure to surrender a controlled dangerous substance to the police. Then, he was turned over to the Irvington Police Department for outstanding warrants.
The second person, a 26-year-old Irvington woman, was charged with giving false information to police. She also had an outstanding warrant, police said. She was released on a summons.
