$500K In Drugs Seized In Livingston, Newark, E. Orange: Police
Police seized a combined $500,000 in drugs at homes in Livingston, Newark and East Orange. 3 suspects are still at large, authorities said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police executed search warrants at homes in Livingston, Newark and East Orange, seizing more than $500,000 in drugs and guns, authorities announced Thursday.
Drugs seized during the coordinated raid included methamphetamines, heroin, cocaine and marijuana, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Public Safety Department.
Authorities said that law enforcement officers carried out search warrants at three locations:

- A home at 28 Laurel Avenue in Livingston
- A home at 23-25 Stecher Street in Newark
- An apartment on the 200-block of South Harrison Street in East Orange
During the raids, police seized the following:
- Methamphetamines with an approximate street value of $29,130
- Cocaine worth approximately $350,000
- Heroin worth approximately $200,000
- Marijuana worth approximately $3,000
- “Large amounts” of marijuana edibles
- $19,108 in cash
- Jewelry worth $60,000
- 3 fully loaded firearms
Authorities didn’t identify which items were seized at which homes in an initial statement.

Karlin Grant, 45, of East Orange, Dennis Anderson, 47, of Livingston and Jasmine Ingram, 39, of Irvington, were all charged with three counts of possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property (a firearm), possession of hollow point ammunition, possession of prescription legend drugs, possession of a weapon while engaged in CDS offenses and possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute, authorities said.
In addition, all three were charged with violating the law by installing a surveillance system designed to detect police approaching the home in Newark, authorities said.
Grant, Anderson and Ingram are all still at large, authorities said Thursday. (See photos below, via the Essex County Prosecutor's Office)
“These charges are another example of success through our law enforcement partnerships with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Rutgers Police Department,” Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said.
