Adults of all Ages Dance the Night Away as Part of the Township’s Ballroom Dance Social Series
LIVINGSTON, NJ – The Livingston Recreation Department hosted a night out on Friday, March 21 for Livingston adults who like to dance, as part of the Township’s Ballroom Dance Social Series, which runs through June. As candles lit the ballroom at the Senior Community Center on Hillside Avenue, couples danced the merengue under the instruction of dance teacher David Cross.
Thirty people took part in the evening dance social, which also included refreshments. Each session of The Ballroom Dance Social Series includes a brief Instruction from 7-8 p.m. followed by 30 minutes of open dancing.
“About eighteen months ago, we wanted to get the ballroom dancing program revived, while at the same time trying to reach the demographic of the working adults who cannot come to our classes during the day,” said Supervisor of Senior and Adult Enrichment for the Township of Livingston Liliana Branquinho. “With this in mind, the “Night Out” concept was born providing a night out with friends where adults have a fun way to get together while getting some exercise.”
