After Car Chase In Livingston, Teen Arrested In Vehicle Theft: Police
Two teens were arrested in Livingston in connection with separate car thefts last week, one after a police chase.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston police have arrested two Newark teens in the last two weeks in two different car thefts, with one coming after a chase, they said.
On Tuesday, Sept. 26, police found a stolen Hyundai Sonata traveling east on East Pleasant Avenue around 12:54 a.m., they said.
They tried to stop the vehicle, but it took off.

Police lost sight of the vehicle but then found that it had crashed in the area of Laurel Avenue and Tulip Court, they said.
They found one of the suspects on foot. They arrested Marcus Poellenitz, 19, from Newark.

He was charged with receiving stolen property (motor vehicle) and resisting arrest by flight, police said. His charges were placed on a warrant and he was taken to the Essex County Jail.
Teen Charged In BMW Theft
Meanwhile, police also said that they had recently arrested a Newark teen in connection with a vehicle theft in August.
Rahlik Sandifer, 18, of Newark was arrested last week and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, burglary, and conspiracy.
Police say that at 7:58 a.m. on Aug. 18, they responded to a Morningside Drive residence on a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon officers arrival they met with the victim, who said his 2023 BMW IX had been stolen from the driveway early in the morning.
The vehicle had been left unlocked, and the victim was unsure if he left the key in the vehicle, police said. The vehicle was recovered a short time later in Newark.
Det. McNamara’s investigation led to the four charges for Sandifer, police said.
