After Stolen Car Crashes Into Exxon Sign, Livingston Police Arrest 4 Essex County Teens

Livingston police pursued a stolen car that crashed into an Exxon sign. Then they arrested four teens from other Essex County towns.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Four Essex County teenagers were arrested by Livingston police in the wee hours of Monday morning after a stolen car they were riding in crashed into an Exxon sign, police said.

Monday at 1:23 a.m., Livingston police located a stolen 2016 Kia on Glendale Avenue and attempted to pull it over, they said.

The vehicle took off. Livingston police chased it down North Livingston Avenue to Roseland.

Around the intersection of Eagle Rock Avenueand Eisenhower Parkway, police said, the driver lost control and crashed into an Exxon sign.

Police chased the suspects on foot, with help from other law enforcement agencies.

They arrested a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old male from Newark, along with a 17-year-old male from Roselle and Jonathan Adofo, 18, from Newark.

Adofo was charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, hindering apprehension, and conspiracy, police said.

He was taken to the Essex County Jail.

The other three teens were released to the parents and will be charged by the Livingston Juvenile Detective Bureau, police said.
