After Gunpoint Robbery At Livingston Pharmacy, Police Make Arrest

One man was arrested after two suspects robbed a Livingston pharmacy at gunpoint, police said. The investigation continues.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A suspect was arrested Jan. 2 after two men held up a pharmacy in Livingston at the end of the year, police say.

Police said that on Dec. 30, at 12:30 p.m., they responded to Invictus Pharmacy, 91 E Mt Pleasant Ave, on a report of a robbery.

The store owner and employees said they had just been robbed at gunpoint.

They said that two masked suspects entered the store "brandishing handguns' and made their way behind the counter, where they stole a large quantity of prescription medication and fled the scene.

Livingston detectives investigated.

Early Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, they identified and arrested one of the two suspects.

Nariq Petes, 25, of Newark, was charged with four counts of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, certain persons not to have firearms, and theft.

He was taken to the Essex County Jail.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.

Meanwhile, the same pharmacy had been ransacked 10 days earlier, on Dec. 20, with medications and money missing, police had said. READ MORE: Drugs And Cash Stolen From Livingston Pharmacy
