Alexandru Aldea Wins Best Actor Award
Caldwell New Jersey's Rising Star honored at Jersey City Pop Up Film Festival
CALDWELL, NJ, February 24 — The name “Alexandru Aldea” was announced before the film community on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Jersey City Pop Up Film Festival at the Brightside Tavern in Jersey City, N.J. as he was named “Best Actor” for his work in the short independent film, All About Rita.
The award comes just before Alex’s national television debut as Martin Luther in the fourth episode of CNN’s six-part series, POPE: The Most Powerful Man in History. The Original Series explores the Vatican to reveal the true power held by popes throughout the ages, the series begins on Sunday March 11 on CNN at 10 P.M. and Alex brings Martin Luther’s character to life on Sunday, April 1st.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Alex was born in Romania. He moved to Bergen County, N.J. when he was just seven years old. Acting was always a hobby for Alex but his study in law took precedence. After Alex’s successful ten year career as an attorney and investment banker, his calling for acting couldn’t be ignored.

“The second I got bit by the acting bug, it was the only thing I wanted to do. Acting allows me to open different parts of myself. It’s where my passion is, it’s where my focus is and where my heart,” says Alexandru Aldea.
