Alliance of Private Special Education Schools Hosting Important Conference and Resource Fair for Special Needs Community
Families, Educators and Service Providers Offered Opportunity to Learn and Network

Livingston, NJ- The Alliance of Private Special Education Schools in Northern New Jersey will be hosting its Fifth Annual Spring Conference and Resource Fair on May 13th, 2017 at the Eisenhower Conference Center in Livingston, NJ. The conference will feature a keynote workshop by internationally recognized author and speaker, Dr. Thomas Armstrong. Attendees will gain resources to improve the lives of children and teens with disabilities.
Fulfilling its purpose-driven mission to help parents and educators be well informed about appropriate program options in special education, the Alliance has organized a venue for families, educators and service providers to learn more about special education services, schools and agencies. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an informational workshop that will teach strategies on creating more positive environments in school and at home. Additionally, the conference provides an arena for like-minded parents and professionals to network, share, and learn more about navigating the options for special needs students.
International speaker, Dr. Thomas Armstrong, Executive Director of the American Institute for Learning and Human Development and author of sixteen books, will present the keynote workshop- Neurodiversity: Strength-based Strategies to Help ALL Students Succeed in School and in Life. During the workshop participants will expand their understanding of assessing individual strengths in students with disabilities. Dr. Armstrong will incorporate a Neurodiversity Strengths Checklist assisting attendees to negotiate strategies to help students with disabilities flourish. Dr. Armstrong’s books have been translated in over eighty foreign editions and will be available for purchase. He has been a regular columnist and contributor to Parenting, Mothering and Family Circle, and has appeared on several national and international television and radio programs including NBC’s ‘The Today Show’, ‘CBS This Morning’, CNN and the BBC.

The conference will be held on May 13th, 2017 at the Eisenhower Conference Center located at 290 W. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ. The hours are 8:30 am – 1:00 pm. Ticket prices begin at $15.00 and include Dr. Armstrong’s Neurodiversity workshop and entrance to the Resource Fair. Educators and professionals can receive 3 CEU’s for attending the workshop.
