Boy Scout Troop 16 Holds Eagle Court of Honor

On Sunday, January 9, Boy Scout Troop 16 held an Eagle Court of Honor at St. Philomena Parish for their two newest Eagle Scouts: Benjamin Vossler and Christopher Yap.  Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouting, earned by only 3% of boys who are involved in Scouting.  Ben is the son of Richard and Coralyn Vossler, and Chris is the son of Andrew and Noreen Yap.

Both young men graduated from Livingston High School in 2010 and are currently attending Rutgers University.  Ben is enrolled in the School of Engineering and is a member of the Rutgers Marching Scarlet Knights.  Chris is studying to be a Doctor of Pharmacy at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.

The Eagle Court of Honor was attended by local dignitaries who gave certificates of commendation to both young men.  Among the dignitaries attending were Mayor Rudy Fernandez and representatives of AARP, the United States Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, UNICO, Girl Scouts of Livingston and the Northern New Jersey Council of Boy Scouts of America as well as the Order of the Arrow.  The Eagle Scouts also received letters of congratulations from President Obama and Governor Christie, as well as former Presidents and current heads of national and state agencies.
