LHS Grad Kimberly Kaplan Nominated for Emmy Award

 

Kimberly Kaplan, who graduated from Livingston High School in 2004, has been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Interview for the 33rd annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards. She was nominated for her role as Producer on Rock Center with Brian Williams (NBC) for the interview "Sandusky Speaks." Nominations for the 33rd Annual News and Documentary Emmy® Awards were announced on July 12, 2012.

Ms. Kaplan received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2008 from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism, University of Maryland, College Park.  Before joining NBC News as part of the original team producing Rock Center, she worked at ABC News’ Nightline as production assistant to Cynthia McFadden, the host of Nightline.  She is currently an associate producer in the booking department.  Kimberly is the daughter of Nell Sommese and Kenneth Kaplan, both formerly Livingston residents.

The winners will be presented with their awards on Monday, October 1st at a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, located in the Time Warner Center in New York City.
