
Temple B’nai Abraham of Livingston honored on April 8 its Hey Class, 7th grade students, graduating from the Religious School in the Louis and Emily Slater Youth and Education Center.
These graduating students have completed their Hebrew School academic requirements in addition to synagogue, school and community volunteer service. Religious School Director Janet Resnick and Religious School Assistant Director Rena Yosevitz presented the graduates with diplomas and gifts.

Scholarship awards were presented to outstanding students in this Hey Class for excellence in Hebrew reading and chanting, having performed over 18 hours of either Temple or Community service, and for writing a compelling essay on: The Need for an Ongoing Jewish Education, The Importance of Israel to Me as a Jew, or Lessons I Learned From My Holocaust Studies that I Will Incorporate Into My Life, respectively, and for the first time, an award for perfect attendance throughout all five years of Hebrew School.

Following Religious School graduation, Temple B'nai Abraham students are encouraged to continue their studies in the various Temple’s 8th to 12th grade programs. The formal educational classes will be led by Rabbi Clifford Kulwin and the informal opportunities, such as AZA, BBG, Teen Tikkun Olam, and Midnight Run, will continue to be led by Claudia Minde.
Registration has begun for all Temple Bnai Abraham Religious School programs. The Primary School, kindergarten, first and second grade, meets on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and is open to both Temple members and non-members.
The Hebrew School, grades three through six, or Aleph through Dalet Classes, offers a choice of Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday sessions from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Seventh graders, the Hey Class, meet once a week on Tuesdays from 6:25 to 8:00 p.m.
