Arden Courts increases support as Sponsor of Walk to End Alzheimer's

Arden Courts/Promedica Memory Care, a provider of specialized residential memory care in safe and nurturing environments, is increasing their support and participation as a 2023 sponsor of the Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter’s Essex-Hudson-Union Walk to End Alzheimer’s®. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Community partnerships are what strengthens the Walks across the nation.

"The Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter (AAGNJ) is committed to collaborating with our community partners to create a safety net around those impacted by dementia,” said AAGNJ executive director Cheryl Ricci-Francione. "We provide a vast array of resources and educational programs to New Jersey residents, all at no cost. The Essex-Hudson-Union Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on September 30 at South Mountain Recreation Complex, 9 Cherry Lane in West Orange. On Walk day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony — a mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease. The colors of the Promise Garden flowers represent people’s connection to Alzheimer’s — their personal reasons to end the disease.

Jeanette Lauture, CDP, Director of Sales/Marketing & Memory Care Advisor at Arden Courts West Orange commented, “Arden Courts is dedicated to providing quality care in a caring environment. We evaluate, train and implement the care programs that work toward the highest practicable level of well-being for our patients and residents.” She continued, “One such program is the training of our caregivers using the Virtual Dementia Tour ®, a patented evidence-based scientific method of building awareness and empathy in individuals caring for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementia. The Virtual Dementia Tour temporarily alters participants’ physical and sensory abilities. Trained facilitators guide participants outfitted with devices that alter their senses while they try to complete common everyday tasks and exercises. The Tour enables caregivers to experience for themselves the physical and mental challenges those with dementia face, and use the experience to provide better person-centered care.”
