Area Under Freeze Watch, Nor'easter In Forecast For Essex County
Just when you thought the weather couldn't get stranger, Essex County is under a freeze watch for Sunday, and a nor'easter is forecast.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — April showers may bring May flowers, but do they bring plummeting temperatures and nor'easters with an inch of rain? Apparently in 2022 they may.
Essex, Passaic, Bergen, and Union counties are under a freeze watch from late Sunday night through 8 a.m. Monday morning, the National Weather Service says.
Then, according to the NWS, the area may have more than an inch of rain Monday night into early Tuesday.

Accuweather is calling the storm a nor'easter that will ride along on the tail of the cold front early this coming week.
Regarding the Sunday night freeze watch: "Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing," the NWS says. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
