Livingston Citizens' Institute Opens Public Dialogue on Improving Community
Deadline today to attend workshops on how to build a great community.

Got some great ideas on how to improve the Livingston community that you want to share?
The Livingston Citizens' Institute is accepting applications for three workshops focused on talking about what makes a great community, what supports a great community and what the public can do to build a great community. Workshops will be held 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 14, March 29 and April 18 at the senior and community center at 204 Hillside Ave.
The institute was created last year by Township Manager Michele Meade and former Mayor Arlene Johnson as a way for residents to come together and "open up dialogue" on how to enhance the township, said Walter Joyce, a member of the governing board.

Joyce said the institute workshops are a good opportunity for diverse township residents to share experiences, discuss what they like about the community and what should be done to improve it.
Last year's institute workshops drew 70 people, he said, and he expects a similar turnout this year. There will also be special electives available this year as well, along with field trips to important municipal buildings and community groups.
