LIVINGSTON, NJ — While some parents are still figuring out the patchwork of childcare, day camp, and vacation for the rest of summer, stores like Walgreen's have already arranged their back-to-school displays, including blackboards for photos on the first day.
So how many days of summer vacation are left for public school parents, anyway?
Here in New Jersey, school almost always starts after Labor Day.

- The first day of school is tentatively Tuesday, Sept. 5.
- The first holiday off is Monday, Sept. 25, for Yom Kippur.
