Barnabas Health Medical Group Welcomes Breast Surgeon Janet Yeh, M.D. to The Center for Breast Health and Disease Management
BHMG recently announced the addition of Janet Yeh, M.D.
Barnabas Health Medical Group (BHMG) recently announced the addition of Janet Yeh, M.D., a fellowship trained breast surgeon to the Center for Breast Health and Disease Management, located at Clara Maass Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, and the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center in Livingston, NJ.
As Director of the Breast Center at Clara Maass Medical Center and as a breast surgeon with the Center for Breast Health and Disease Management, Dr. Yeh provides comprehensive breast care as well as medical and surgical expertise. Dr. Yeh’s decision to specialize in surgical breast oncology, with a concentration in the treatment of malignant as well as benign breast disease, is rooted in the strong patient relationships that develop when caring for patients.
“Breast surgical oncology is extremely patient-oriented,” said Dr. Yeh. “It is vital to take the time to get to know one’s patients and understand what is important in their lives in order to create an appropriate treatment plan for that individual and their families. Breast oncology is an exciting field that is advancing at an incredible pace. It is extremely multidisciplinary in nature, which means we are part of a large and diverse team, all focused on working together to provide our patients with the best care and treatment possible. While it can be very challenging, it is extremely rewarding in many ways.”

In addition to breast surgical oncology, Dr. Yeh has an interest in high-risk patients and their families as well as the prevention and early detection of breast cancer and breast disease. She is a strong advocate for self-breast exams and urges women to be more aware of their own body.
“I try to emphasize the importance of women becoming more familiar with their own bodies and what is normal for them as an individual – it can lead to early detection and alert an individual of what is new or different that should be evaluated by a physician,” said Dr. Yeh.

Dr. Yeh is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Surgical Society of Oncology, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
