Blood Drive Honors Former Livingston Dispatcher
Rachel Morgan was shot and critically wounded after chase in Paramus.

A blood drive is being held in honor of former Livingston dispatcher and current Paramus police officer, Rachel Morgan, was shot and critically wounded earlier this month.
The blood drive is being sponsored by Paramus Police Department and the Feb. 15 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Paramus Volunteer Ambulance Corps Building.
Morgan was struck by three bullets, two in the abdomen and one in the leg, after a high-speed chase on Feb. 6 that ended near the entrance to the Garden State Parkway on Rt. 17. She has undergone three surgeries at Hackensack University Medical Center and is listed in critical but stable condition. She is expected to recover.

Her suspected shooter, Michael Sean Carmody, died after being taken off life support.
Michael Cebulski, president of the Paramus police union, said the department was grateful for all the support from the community, and that the blood drive was a fitting way to honor Morgan.

"Rachel would have been the first one in line to give blood," he said.

Morgan was well regarded when she worked for Livingston Police in 1995 and 1996 as a dispatcher and auxiliary officer, Sgt. Det. Anthony Dippold said.
