Shoplifter Takes Clothes From Livingston Mall Macy's, Returns Next Day: Police

Macy's employees told the Livingston police that a woman who had just shoplifted $800 in items had also been there the night before.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston police said last week that on Thursday, June 23, they responded to the Macy's store at the Livingston Mall. When police arrived, Macy's loss prevention officers had a 43-year-old woman in custody. The loss prevention staff told police that the woman had concealed more than $800 in merchandise and left the store without paying.

One of the loss prevention officers also reported recognizing the woman as someone who had come in the night before and left with $400 in items without paying.

The woman was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters. She was charged with shoplifting and theft, and released on a summons, police said.
