10 Stories That Did NOT Begin with ‘Irene’
Living in Livingston: In case you missed it, a review of the week's top stories.

Next Sunday, Livingston will gather in its memorial garden to honor the lives lost on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
“It is a day none of us will ever forget," said former Livingston Mayor Eleanore Cohen, who served this community on September 11, 2001. In the spot where the community regularly comes together for music and fireworks, sports and veteran salutes, a garden now blooms for contemplation and healing.
The garden features a sundial made from pieces of steel removed from the rubble of the World Trade Center. Seven sides of the octagonal-shaped garden remember the residents who lost their lives on September 11, 2001: Luke A. Dudek, Jeffrey Brian Gardner, Donald Thomas Jones II, Ming-Hao Liu, Joseph P. McDonald, John M. Pocher, and Kenneth Albert Zelman.

"What truly defines a community, is how it responds to tragedy and loss," said former Livingston Mayor Arlene Johnson speaking to their families and Livingston residents who came to remember last year. "We are united not by hatred, but for service and concern for one another."
Patch will continue 9/11 coverage throughout the week. Children will also be heading back to school.
