complete.  Although traditional braces still have their place, many adults do not want to spend several years in braces.  6 Month Smiles is the perfect solution for these people.  It is less expensive than invisible clear aligners, traditional orthodontic braces, and veneers.  The dentist also has much more control over the results than invisible clear aligners.

How will 6 Month Braces look on my teeth?

Are 6 Month Braces different than normal braces?

Yes, these short term braces are goal oriented.  Dr. Magid uses them to achieve a particular goal with your smile, like straightening your crooked teeth for example.  Regular orthodontic braces are used to modify and perfect your bite in addition to straightening your teeth.   Most adults that we see are able to chew fine and just want to straighten or un-crowd their teeth.   In these cases where your bite is comfortable and you are able to chew normally, 6 Month Smiles is the perfect way to fix your smile in about 6 months.

What is the difference between 6 Month Smiles braces and
the invisible aligners that I see on TV?

Using brackets and wires, Dr. Magid is able to fine tune movements in your teeth that are not possible using clear aligners.  The clear aligners, which are beneficial because they can be taken out, rely on the compliance of the patient.  You have to remember to take out and put they trays back in after meals, etc.  The cost is also a big difference.  Invisible clear aligners are significantly more expensive than 6 Month Smiles.  Lastly, modifying and fine tuning results is more difficult and time consuming with invisible aligners.  With 6 Month Smiles, fine tuning results is easy and quick.

Can my teeth really be straightened in 6 months?

It does seem very fast.  It’s hard to believe you can complete a full braces treatment between your dental cleanings.  Most cases take 6 months.   Shorter cases will take only 4 months and the rare extensive cases could take up to 9 months.  Come in for a free consultation and Dr. Magid will discuss the expected length of your treatment.
