Livingston Resident Honored by AFS

AFS - New jersey honors Livingston resident Sue Fershing for 25 years of volunteering for the high school student exchange program

On June 16, 2013 , AFS-USA honored Livingston resident Sue Fershing for 25 years of volunteering for the high school student exchange program.  A party was held at the Livingston Community Center for her and in attendance were former Livingston host families, volunteers and friends, current and former AFS exchange students and AFS-USA staff.

Ruth Quiles, an AFSer from New Jersey who spent a semester in Australia, presented Sue with a handmade quilt that she made of AFS tee shirts from around the world.

Sue notes that "it takes a village to achieve the goals of AFS and it is only possible with the help of many volunteers working together toward world peace through intercultural exchange and understanding".
