Livingston Water Summit
With concerns over pollution and global warming, Livingston will present a Water Summit on June 22.

Water is our most important natural resource and is essential for life. With concerns over pollution and global warming, Livingston Township is proud to announce that the first Water Summit will take place on Wednesday, June 22, 7:00-9:00 pm at the Senior Community Center (204 Hillside Ave). This is a FREE event designed to educate residents on how to protect this precious commodity.
“This event is open to everyone: students, teachers, families, environmentalists, and educators,” said Joe Greco, Superintendent of Livingston Water Pollution Control Facility. “The Summit will answer questions about the future of water and what we can do to protect our water supply.”
This event is sponsored by the Livingston Environmental Commission and the Girl Scouts, and is the inspiration of Alyssa Pepper (Troop 20743) who decided to organize a Water Summit with speakers and information on water quality and conservation for her Girl Scout Gold Award. The Summit brings together experts from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Rutgers University, the New Jersey Environmental Federation, the Passaic River Coalition, the Livingston Water Pollution Control Facility, and the State Climatologist.

“Given the importance of these question, this event should be very informative, and I suggest that residents register early because there is limited seating,” continued Greco.
