Olliepalooza IV July 25 at Providence NYC
On Thursday July 25th, 2013, The Scheier Family will host on behalf of the MDA-OlliePalooza IV at Providence NY as they honor son Oliver Scheier and the thousands of children affected by Rigid Spine.
The Scheier Family of Livingston, and The Muscular Dystrophy Association have come together for the fourth time to host an amazing evening of fantastic food, drinks, live and silent auctions, and tons of fun as we honor Oliver Scheier and raise vital funds for the research of rare muscular dystrophies.
Oliver was born with a very rare disease -- Rigid Spine Muscular Dystrophy -- and his is only one of 70 cases known in the world. His form of muscular dystrophy causes muscle weakness and degeneration, and severe spinal curvature which inevitably causes respiratory insufficiency. Despite his disease, Oliver is an incredibly funny and lighthearted boy with a true love of life.
For 2013, $1 million has been allocated to research grant funding for Oliver's specific form of Rigid Spine. A quarter of this has been raised by Olliepalooza. Without your generous donations, this research would not be possible.
