The Jackals Experience

The New Jersey Jackals returned home to Yogi Berra Stadium on Friday to open up a six game home stand. The Jackals took three of four from the Newark Bears in Newark last week. It was a beautiful weekend up at the stadium as the Jackals took on the visiting Grand Prairie AirHogs. Friday nights game was postponed for fifteen minutes due to rain but once the game got underway it was an exciting one. The final score was 10 to 9 in sixteen innings! The game had to be finished on Saturday because CanAm rules states that you cannot start an inning after midnight. Nick Giarraputo blasted a two run homer in the bottom of the 16^th inning to give the Jackals the 10-9 victory on Saturday. The Saturday evening game resulted in a tough 3-0 loss but the fireworks after the game got the fans on their feet and very excited. I made my second trip back to the concession stands and it was even better this time. I got an order of onion rings, buffalo chicken strips and the Jack Burger. All of them were fantastic. If you want a burger from the DugOut then I highly recommend the JackBurger. It is a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The bun is what really makes the burger fabulous. The onion rings and buffalo chicken strips were great. Make sure you make your way over to the condiment table after you get your food because there are endless options. Ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, barbeque sauce and honey mustard can complete your meal. The Jackals dropped the third game of the series against the AirHogs 14-4. Come out to the stadium on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as the Jackals take on les Capitales de Quebec. All three are 7:05 first pitch.
