TOWNSHIP ISSUES ESTIMATED TAX BILLS

TOWNSHIP ISSUES ESTIMATED TAX BILLS

The Township has not yet received all the necessary information to issue final 2012 tax bills, and will be issuing estimated bills for the August 1, 2012 third quarter tax payment. By mailing estimated bills, the Township will avoid the unnecessary cost of interest expense associated with issuing tax anticipation notes to borrow money for cash flow purposes.

The third quarter estimated tax bill is the only bill that you will receive for the August 1, 2012 payment. To avoid interest charges, all August payments must be received on or before August 10, 2012.

Tax bills for the November 1, 2012, February 1, 2013 and May 1, 2013 will be adjusted, if necessary, and mailed following certification of the final 2012 tax rate by the Essex County Board of Taxation.

Tax payments can also be made by mail, in person at the tax office located at 357 South Livingston Avenue, or through the drop box located in the rear parking lot of the municipal building.
