Bridgegate: Former Livingston Mayor Planned to Work on Christie's Prez Campaign
Former Port Authority executive David Wildstein was gearing up to court the favor of Fort Lee mayor, report says.

David Wildstein, the former Port Authority executive and mayor of Livingston who recently pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy in the “Bridgegate” scandal, may have been planning to leave the agency in 2013 to work on Governor Chris Christie’s campaign.
Jay Alpert, a high-ranking Port Authority police employee at the time of the alleged events of Bridgegate, told NorthJersey.com that Wildstein suggested that he planned to help secure the endorsement of Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich in in June of 2012.

Wildstein’s guilty plea was the first federal conviction in the 2013 scandal involving traffic jams near the Washington Bridge that were allegedly orchestrated as political payback.
