Building a Mini-Sukkah…One Little Stick at a Time

The students of Temple B'nai Abraham learn about Sukkot.

After listening to the PJ Library book Bubbe Isabella and the Sukkot Cake, written and illustrated by Kelly Terwilliger, the students in the primary grades (K-2) of Temple B’nai Abraham were delighted and inspired to build and decorate their own mini-Sukkah.  The students build their mini-Sukkahs using mixed media including paper, sticks, glues, paint, cardboard and leaves.

The students learned about Sukkot, a fall festival holiday, and about the Sukkah.  Sukkahs are boothes or huts which are partially open to the sky, places to “dwell” during this holiday.
