Burglars Tried To Boost Pokémon Cards In Livingston, Police Say

Officers chased down two burglary suspects who allegedly broke into a storage unit, authorities said.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston police recently arrested two burglary suspects who allegedly broke into a storage unit at a local business to steal Pokémon cards, authorities say.

According to the Livingston Police Department, officers responded to Securespace Livingston on the 600-block of West Mount Pleasant Avenue at 1:03 a.m. on Thursday after getting a report about a burglary.

Security staff told the officers that they saw two people breaking into a storage unit at the business through video surveillance.

Livingston police searched the building and encountered two suspects, who ran away. They were apprehended after a chase, authorities said.

Livingston police charged the suspects – Anas Sherhan, 27, of Pelham, NY, and Younis Sharahan, 37, of Pelham, NY – with burglary, theft and resisting arrest. Both were held on warrants and transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.

It appears that the object of the burglary were Pokémon trading cards, Livingston police said.
