Seton Hall Bus Stolen From Livingston Mall And Left At School, 2 Suspects Captured: Police

A running Seton Hall bus was stolen at the Livingston Mall and left at a school over the weekend, police say. Two suspects were charged.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Two suspects were charged with theft after a bus was stolen from the Livingston Mall on Saturday afternoon and left at a local school, police say.

Marie Rosario, 43, of Newark, and Marshall Moreira, 30, of Hillside, were charged with theft of a motor vehicle and conspiracy, the Livingston police said Tuesday.

The bus was described as a commuter bus. Police Lt. Joe D'Andrea clarified Tuesday, "This was a private bus line that came from Seton Hall University. No students were on the bus and no students were involved with stealing the bus."

Police said they responded at 4:11 p.m. on Saturday to the Livingston Mall on a report of a stolen commuter bus.

The bus driver told police that he'd left the vehicle running in front of Macy’s, and when he returned, it was gone.

Police found the bus abandoned on the property of Newark Academy in that town, the report said. Newark Academy is less than half a mile from Macy's on South Orange Avenue.

Police conducted an on-scene investigation and located Rosario and Moreira, they said.

Police arrested them and took them to the Essex County Jail.
