Busy Week at Senior/Community Center
Seniors celebrate Grandparents Day, Newcomers get a taste of Livingston.
The Livingston Senior/Community Center was the place to be this past week for old timers and newcomers alike.
On Thursday, grandkids were treated to an afternoon outing with their grandparents. The children were treated to face painting, kite making with colorful decorations, refreshments and entertainment. They enjoyed plenty of pizza, desserts and soda. Entertainers Pressley & Melody brought party pom-poms and party musical instruments for everyone to use during a sing-a-long.
On Monday, newcomers were treated to a picnic and a taste of Livingston from businesses donating dinner. New residents heard from the Mayor and Superintendent of Schools and walked around to learn more about a wide variety of offerings in town.

Some of Livingston’s longest residents learned a few things about town from the groups represented, everyone from the ; the and ; and and to the , and.
Seniors started off the week learning about computers with Old Guard members, led by Stu Spater & George Gerges. On Tuesday, 50 seniors met at the center and travelled by bus to hear Frankie Avalon at the PNC Arts Center. The next day, another 50 left by bus for a day of recreational wagering and having fun plus good food and entertainment at a casino.

On Friday, the seniors were at the library to hear Andy White perform on the drums. Andy was introduced by his wife Thea and joined by Fran Rafferty on bagpipes. In addition to playing individual songs, each demonstrated the proper techniques for playing their instruments. The finale was leading the audience in the grand march outside the building as they played favorite marching songs, concluding with God Bless America.
