Over the past several years, historian and photographer Mario Medici has explored Arthur Avenue and its surrounding streets, collecting the stories of second-, third-, and fourth-generation shop owners who have helped preserve the neighborhood’s unique character. From handmade pastas and fresh mozzarella to pizza, prime meats, tripe, octopus, and baccalà, Arthur Avenue offers a true feast for the senses. Shoppers travel from throughout the tri-state area to experience its bakeries, markets, specialty food shops, and restaurants.
